Welcome to VBS DAY CAMP 2025!
We are so happy to welcome you to our 8th Summer VBS Day Camp: Hero Central!
Are you ready to do good, seek peace, and go after it? This summer we will don our camps and superhero masks and prepare ourselves to take on the task of spreading peace, love, and kindness throughout our community. We will learn about some Bible heroes and discover that we can be heroes too, using our strength in God.
Our day camp is founded on the values of love, belonging, and personal growth – you do NOT need to be Christian to attend. But you DO need to be ready to use your imagination and have fun!

How Our VBS Day Camp Works
Camp Activities
Each day begins at our Hero Headquarters with an exciting opening ceremony full of song, laughter, and special appearances by this year’s mascot, Flame. At Hero Headquarters, heroes-in-training will learn about the day’s unlikely hero and prepare themselves for the day’s mission.
Working in small groups, heroes-in-training will rotate through a variety of activity stations: cooking, crafts, science, mission, music, movement, and more!
In the afternoon we will set out to explore the city’s parks, pools, and other fun places, like the Planetarium and the Biodome.
At the close of the day, it’s back to Hero Headquarters, where we wrap it up with a closing and we discuss our God sightings.
Then, your little heroes are back in your arms, full of adventures and happy memories. We will see you all tomorrow for another day of adventure!

Camp Details
Our camp runs on weekdays from July 7 to July 25. We begin at 9 AM and end at 5 PM.
Cost per week: $80/child, but subsidies are available. This includes:
- camp t-shirt (and superhero cape!)
- all outings
- transportation to and from outings
- all crafts and activities
All children ages 5 and up are invited to attend. Because we believe so strongly in providing quality programming to ALL children, we provide subsidies to families who need it. We believe strongly that no child should be left out of camp.
Here’s is what your child can expect on a typical day:
9 AM: Arrival and free play
9:30 AM: Opening at Hero Headquarters
10:00 AM: Snack
10:30 AM: Rotate through activity stations
12:00 PM: Lunch
12:30 PM: Free play
1:00 PM: Prepare for outing or large group activity
Afternoon:
- outing, or
- activity stations in small groups, or
- large group activity
4:00 PM: God Sightings and mission recap at Hero Headquarters

NEW THIS SUMMER: RISE UP!
A program for preteens and teens
“Rise Up!” is a program designed for young people who have completed Grade 6 and up. Often (but not always), Rise Up! participants have enjoyed their time as campers at VBS, but are ready to take on more responsibilities and challenges. They still enjoy the imaginative, creative side of VBS, but have outgrown their time as campers. They are young people looking to have fun with friends in an open and belonging environment, while starting to flex their leadership muscles.
Rise Up! participants are counsellors-in-training for the first part of the day. They help lead the opening at Hero Headquarters and then rotate through the activity stations acting as role models and helping wherever needed.
After lunch, they break out into their own Rise Up! group where they work with a leader to plan and execute their own outings and develop their own plan for being a superhero in the real world.
New this Year: Rise Up! Camp for Teens
Rise Up!

Rise Up! is designed specifically with teens ages 12-16 in mind. Explorers at Rise Up! still enjoy the imaginative, creative side of VBS but have grown out of the traditional VBS model. They are teens looking to have fun with friends in an open, belonging environment.
Rise Up! Explorers have two options to suit their summer needs:
OPTION 1: Rise Up! Explorers help our elementary explorers as Team Leaders as they rotate through activity stations. Then after lunch, they break out into teen groups and work with a leader to design their own summer fun, all the while shining their own light into the world. (9 am to 5 pm)
OPTION 2: Sleepy Rise Up! Explorers skip the first part of the day but join in the breakout room after lunch! (12:30 pm to 5 pm)
Why Rise Up!
- Enjoy the summer! Summer is meant to be doing things – get out, have fun, and light up the world!
- You still get to be a kid and enjoy VBS – but in your way: pop in/out as you wish!
- Because it’s FUN!
Regardless of which option they choose, Rise Up! still costs $80 per week. Why? The activities the teens chose cost more, and the set-up requires the camp to have an extra staff person on hand.
