Kids
Welcome to Our Kid Zone!
Our programming for kids extends well beyond Sunday School. Our kids programming is a wonderful mix of learning, laughter, and love. Here, children and youth find a safe, supportive community where no-one is left out, and, as Sarah says, “there’s always cookies”.
Our leaders are more than just teachers – they are mentors, giving freely of their time, energy, and passion. Our Kid Zone takes place in two wonderfully fun Sunday School rooms, a castle-like Upper Hall where kids are free to jump around, and the cool teen hangout spot, The Tower Room. Come see all that Trinity’s Kid Zone has to offer.
Sunday School
Sunday School
Welcome to Sunday School, a place full of hugs and laughter!
Our Sunday School is a small community within the larger church. We love, support, and encourage each other while we learn together. We all belong. And as Sarah says, “there’s always cookies”.
Here’s how a typical Sunday goes:
BIG CHURCH!
Families start off the church service together in the sanctuary until Children’s Time with Rev. Read. Then kids are invited to go to Sunday School with their teachers.
Then we head upstairs to our Sunday School.
SING!
Our kids love to move so we start off Sunday School time by belting out upbeat songs and dancing around to get our wiggles out.
EXPLORE!
Then it’s off to our learning groups which have been organized by ability. In our groups, we read and explore Bible stories then do a craft, science activity, or other age appropriate activity.
PRAY!
Finally all the groups come together again and we pray together, thanking God for blessings or asking for guidance.

Youth Group
Sunday School is where the seeds of friendship are sown but Youth Group is where they blossom!
In Youth Group kids choose how to put their faith in action by working collectively on missions that are dear to their hearts. They also have unique opportunities to try activities they wouldn’t have the opportunity to try elsewhere.
Here’s a sample of what we did last year:
- Collected over 500 food items for families in need
- Organized the church’s Fall Festival
- Raised over $850 in a benefit concert and then used all the money to buy toys for less fortunate kids
- Hosted a Pancake Dinner to raise money for our camps
- Learned how to ski
- Went to la Fete des Neiges (and some of us had toffee on snow for the first time!)
- Visited Ottawa and took part in Worshiplude - a United Church Event for youth across the country
- Visited the Canadian Museum of Civilization
Family Sunday
Happening every last Sunday of the month, Family Sunday (previously called Messy Church) is a spiritual time for families to come together to sing, create, and explore their spirituality together.
During the summer, Family Sunday will take a break. In its place, join the summer joint worship series at our sister church Anjou United at 10:30 AM on June 30, July 28, and August 25.
Summer Camp
Trinity United Church offers a 3-week VBS (Vacation Bible School) summer day camp like no other. Taking in a maximum of 20 kids, this camp truly has that family-feeling.
- 1:5 adult to child ratio
- over-the-top immersion into the camp theme
- morning rotations of cooking, arts & crafts, science, music, missions, and Bible stories
- afternoons exploring Montreal's parks, museums, and festivals
- affordable for everyone - no child left out
- coordinated by a teacher and run by young adults
Last year, our camp theme was Adventure Island.

Handbell & Boomwhacker Choir
Our Junior Handbell & Boomwhacker Choir is just in its infancy. We played our first concert last Christmas and we are hoping to grow from here.
We meet every even-numbered Sunday after church in the Sunday School.
